Job Duties

As a tax manager, you will contribute to developing the strategy for each client’s tax preparation and know where to find the IRS code, including Regulations, Compliance, and Rules to support that return’s strategy. You also need to demonstrate project confidence and competence when dealing with clients directly and with government agencies on behalf of our clients.

 

The Right Candidate: 
  • Possesses active unrestricted credentials: CPA (Certified Public Accountant), Tax LLM or JD
  • Has three or more years of public accounting and tax preparation experience with extensive knowledge of tax laws 
  • Has one or more years of recent experience preparing federal and state S-corp, C-corp, and partnership tax returns  
  • Is proficient with technology and has solid knowledge of computer operations, Microsoft Suite, and accounting software.
  • Greets all potential and existing clients with a warm, friendly welcome
  • Is skilled at communicating with people on the phone, in person, and by email
  • Is a relationship-builder who is comfortable interacting with different types of personalities and all levels of authority
  • Can work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision 
  • Finds value in doing it right the first time (proofreading and double-checking details)
  • Has an insatiable hunger to find ways for our clients to save more on taxes

You’ll Be a Great Fit If:

Position Overview:

Our Atlanta tax and accounting firm is looking for a compassionate and productive Client Service Representative—also known as an “Intake Specialist”—who will focus on providing people who contact us with the ultimate customer service experience. This position will handle critical tasks to ensure all callers and visitors feel welcomed and that we care about helping them.

This position balances the art and science of outstanding customer care. It requires the right combination of empathy, communication skills, attention to detail, and technical know-how. You’ll play an integral role in creating memorable client experiences.

This vital position involves critical duties related to customer service and direct accountant support. The firm is growing quickly, and the owner needs front-line support to “keep the trains running on time” and keep our clients happy.

 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Answering the phone.
  • Greeting visitors, prospects, clients, and referral sources.
  • Scheduling initial consultations and client appointments.
  • Ensuring the Firm Calendar, Owner Calendar, and Sales Calendars are up-to-date and organized, reflecting important meetings, deadlines and reminders.
  • Following up with potential clients before and after their initial consultation.
  • Smoothing out the engagement process by sending the contracts and ensuring new clients feel welcomed.
  • Make regular contact with current clients and former clients to ensure we keep our relationship alive and find ways to continue to be of service.
  • Managing the incoming mail.
  • Sending letters, notecards, emails, thank you cards.
  • Organizing case files and business files.
  • Making copies/scanning documents.

 

This is a key position in the firm. It is a full-time job, requiring 40 hours each week.

 
Qualifications:
  • Customer service experience and experience working in a clerical/secretarial role are required. Tax and accounting experience is a plus.
  • You must be comfortable with a computer and demonstrate proficiency with standard office applications (Word, Outlook Email and Calendar, Google, Facebook, etc).
  • You must have excellent spelling and grammar.
  • We will ask you to demonstrate a penchant for accuracy and attention to detail, which are required to avoid mistakes that can cost our clients (and us) dearly.
  • You MUST be a positive person.

 

We work with people experiencing a combination of stress, anxiety, confusion, and sometimes anger. We are looking for someone who can dig in to find out how to help people (even when they seem unlovable). If this sounds like you, we look forward to meeting you.
